Autumn Fishing Fun, Friendship Through Fishing
Junhua’s Third Annual Fishing Competition

Junhua’s third annual fishing competition, themed “Autumn Fishing Fun, Friendship Through Fishing,” was successfully held at a farm near Zhima’ao in Xuebu Town, Jintan District, Changzhou, China.
With the refreshing autumn weather and tranquil waters providing the perfect setting, the event aimed to enrich employees’ leisure lives, strengthen communication and interaction among colleagues, and foster a united, healthy, and positive corporate culture. Building on the enjoyment and camaraderie of the previous two competitions, this year’s event brought colleagues together for another memorable day.
In addition to the traditional fishing competition, this year’s event introduced recreational activities including badminton, Gomoku, Go, and table tennis, offering a balance of active and relaxing pursuits. More than 100 colleagues from different departments gathered by the lake to enjoy fishing, sports, and friendly competition, taking a well-deserved break from their busy work schedules.
Gathering by the Lake for a Friendly Fishing Contest
At 7:30 a.m. on the day of the competition, participants began arriving at the venue to register. The opening ceremony started promptly at 8:05 a.m., followed by a group photo. The Human Resources and Administration Department explained the competition rules and safety precautions in detail. Participants then drew lots to determine their fishing positions and prepared for the contest.
At 8:30 a.m., the starting signal sounded, officially launching the competition amid the calm waters.

Throughout the contest, anglers remained focused and composed at their fishing stations. With one hand and one rod permitted per participant, they cast their lines, watched their floats, and skillfully lifted their rods at just the right moment. As the floats bobbed on the water and silvery fish broke the surface, cheers and applause rang out around the lake.
According to the competition rules, all participants had to use traditional hand rods and fish independently. Catches were weighed and scored uniformly. When the finishing signal sounded at 11:30 a.m., all participants had to stop fishing immediately, and any catches made after the deadline were excluded from the results. The entire competition proceeded in an orderly, fair, and transparent manner.
Adding Energy with Badminton and Relaxing with Board Games
While the fishing area remained calm and focused, the recreational area was filled with energy and laughter. Recognizing that colleagues have different interests, the organizers introduced badminton, Gomoku, Go, and table tennis alongside the fishing competition, ensuring that everyone could find an activity to enjoy.
Badminton Brings Energy and Vitality
On the badminton court, shuttlecocks flew back and forth as players delivered smashes, drop shots, and delicate net shots. Participants demonstrated agility and teamwork, while cheers from spectators filled the sidelines.
After an energetic match, everyone enjoyed a satisfying workout while strengthening friendships and building closer connections with colleagues.
Friendly Competition Over the Board
The board game tables offered a different kind of excitement. In Gomoku, players placed their pieces rapidly, with attacks and defenses shifting in an instant as spectators enthusiastically offered advice. Go matches were more measured and strategic, with players carefully considering each move while onlookers watched in quiet anticipation.
The contrast between the tranquility of fishing and the lively atmosphere of sports and board games created a delightful scene by the lake in the golden autumn season.
Many colleagues commented that the arrangement catered to experienced anglers while also encouraging those who rarely fish to participate. Through friendly competition and interaction, everyone gained a better understanding of one another and strengthened their bonds.
Testing Fishing Skills and Celebrating the Winners
At 11:40 a.m., the results had been tallied, and the awards ceremony was held. After three hours of intense but friendly competition, the winners in each category were announced.

Mao Weiping from the Mold Manufacturing Workshop claimed first place with consistent performance and impressive fishing skills, standing out among the many skilled participants.
Second Place
Liu Feng from the Precision Engraving Workshop and Wang Yu from the CNC Workshop secured second place through their outstanding performances.
Third Place
Zhang Kai from the CNC Workshop, Wu Hongyong from the Profile Extrusion Division, and Yang Renkuan from the CNC Workshop took third place.
During the awards ceremony, the winners received their certificates and cash prizes, their faces beaming with the joy of achievement as applause filled the venue.
The competition concluded successfully, with the first-, second-, and third-place winners receiving prizes of farm-raised geese and free-range chickens, respectively. Everyone then gathered to enjoy a celebratory fishing feast, sharing food, laughter, and good company to bring the event to a perfect close.
Building Unity Through Fishing, Moving Forward Together
The successful event provided employees with an opportunity to relax, develop their skills, and engage in friendly competition. More importantly, it strengthened communication among colleagues and fostered a united, healthy, and positive corporate culture.
The competition showcased not only skill and sportsmanship but also the friendships formed and the sense of unity strengthened by the lakeside.
We look forward to gathering again next autumn for another memorable fishing competition—sharing skills, celebrating sportsmanship, and strengthening friendships as we move forward together!
