Glass Bottles FAQ

  • What should be paid attention to during injection molding of PEEK?

The first step is to check whether the temperature of the injection machine can reach 400 °C and that of the mould can reach 230 °C. Secondly, we need to choose suitable flowing PEEK raw materials according to the structure of the products. The PEEK3600G with high fluidity is suitable for making thin-walled products, and the PEEK5600G with medium fluidity is suitable for making normal products, the PEEK7600G with low fluidity is suitable for making products that require high toughness, such as screws.
  • What do you need to pay attention to when you keep PEEK?

As with most commercial PEEK, the ability to withstand UV light is skewed, so care should be taken to avoid light and ambient temperature during storage.
  • Does JUNHUA have FDA approved JUNHUA® PEEK grades?

JUNHUA® PEEK is certified to comply with the FDA.
  • What is the chemical solvent resistance of JUNHUA® PEEK?

JUNHUA® PEEK chemical resistance is very good, we often say that chemical resistance is also known as corrosion resistance. Peek contains a large number of benzene ring structure, so that it can withstand most of the chemical drugs, such as gasoline, kerosene, lubricants, formic acid, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, hydrogen peroxide and so on. Only strong oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, aqua regia, chlorine, etc. are not tolerated.

  • What is the natural color of JUNHUA® PEEK material?

PEEK natural color close to Khaki or Brown, Khaki, etc. . We often use two kinds of natural color and black, according to different needs, we can also produce different color particles.
  • Is JUNHUA® PEEK different from other commercial PEEK?

Not all PEEK materials are the same, different manufacturers of PEEK will be different. But for PEEK material of the basic mechanics, thermodynamics and electricity, with the continuous improvement of Peek polymerization process, in fact, have not much difference. For example, the performance of Junhua Peek is similar to that of VICTREX PEEK450G, Keaspire PEEK and VESTAKEEP 5000G, with 95 per cent of the product applications being essentially the same. It’s more about the fluidity of the material.
  • Is PEEK Harder Than Steel?

Is PEEK Harder Than Steel? The Truth About This Engineering Plastic

If you're looking for a strong, durable material for your engineering project, you might be wondering whether PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is harder than steel. PEEK is a type of high-performance plastic that's often used in place of metal due to its unique properties. In this article, we'll take a closer look at PEEK and steel to see how they compare in terms of hardness, strength, and other important factors.

    What is PEEK?

PEEK is a thermoplastic polymer that's known for its excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. It was first developed in the 1970s and has since become a popular material in the engineering industry due to its unique combination of properties.

PEEK is often used in place of metal due to its high strength, stiffness, and resistance to wear, impact, and temperature extremes. It's also lightweight, electrically insulating, and biocompatible, making it ideal for use in a wide range of applications.

    What is steel?

Steel is a metal alloy that's made from iron and other elements, such as carbon, manganese, and chromium. It's one of the most common materials used in the engineering industry due to its high strength, durability, and versatility.

Steel is often used in applications where high strength and toughness are required, such as in construction, transportation, and manufacturing. It's also highly resistant to corrosion, which makes it ideal for use in harsh environments.

How do PEEK and steel compare in terms of hardness?

Hardness is a measure of a material's resistance to deformation, scratching, and indentation. It's an important factor to consider when choosing a material for an engineering project, as it can affect the material's ability to withstand wear, impact, and other forms of stress.

In general, steel is harder than PEEK. Steel has a Mohs hardness of 5-8, depending on the type of steel, while PEEK has a Mohs hardness of around 3.5. This means that steel is more resistant to scratches and indentations than PEEK.

However, hardness is not the only factor to consider when comparing PEEK and steel. PEEK has other properties, such as high stiffness and fatigue resistance, that make it an excellent choice for certain applications, even if it's not as hard as steel.

How do PEEK and steel compare in terms of strength?

Strength is a measure of a material's ability to withstand stress, such as tension, compression, or bending, without breaking or deforming. It's another important factor to consider when choosing a material for an engineering project.

In general, steel is stronger than PEEK. Steel has a tensile strength of around 400-2,000 MPa, depending on the type of steel, while PEEK has a tensile strength of around 90-160 MPa. This means that steel can withstand higher levels of stress than PEEK.

However, strength is not the only factor to consider when comparing PEEK and steel. PEEK has other properties, such as high impact resistance and fatigue strength, that make it
  • Polyether ether ketone(PEEK) VS Polyetherketoneketone(PEKK)

PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) and PEKK (Polyetherketoneketone) are high-performance engineering thermoplastics that have similar chemical structures, but differ in their properties and applications.

PEEK is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic that is known for its excellent mechanical and thermal properties, including high strength, stiffness, and temperature resistance. It has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of around 143°C and can maintain its mechanical properties up to 250°C. PEEK is used in a wide range of applications, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial applications.

PEKK, on the other hand, is a newer material that has gained popularity in recent years due to its unique properties. It is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic that has a slightly higher Tg of around 160°C and can maintain its mechanical properties up to 240°C. PEKK has better chemical resistance and fatigue resistance than PEEK, making it suitable for applications in harsh chemical environments and under high cyclic loading conditions. PEKK is commonly used in aerospace, automotive, and oil and gas applications.

In summary, PEEK and PEKK have similar chemical structures, but differ in their properties and applications. PEEK has excellent mechanical and thermal properties, while PEKK has better chemical and fatigue resistance. The choice between the two materials depends on the specific requirements of the application.
